Typical Girls

Typical Girls (TG) is an in print publication, founded in 2015 by Editor-in-Chief Jamila Prowse and Art Director Chani Wisdom. Originally aimed at widening the representation of women in the media (particularly Women of Colour), between 2015-2018 TG published four issues with Jamila at the helm. The fourth issue in 2018, opened out the focus of TG to explore gender identity more widely. TG has previously been featured in Guardian, i-D, Dazed and Huck. In 2016 Jamila and Chani werenamed by i-D amongst the Editors Shaping the Future of Publishing.


TG has also curated exhibitions at It Is What It Is (2015) and Lighthouse (2018), and was included in Somerset House's Print! Tearing It Up Exhibition in 2018.
